Free association is described as a "psychonanalytic procedure in which a person is encouraged to give free rein to his or her thoughts and feelings, verbalizing whatever comes into the mind without monitoring its content." Over time, this technique is supposed to help bring forth repressed thoughts and feelings that the person can then work through to gain a better sense of self.

That's an admirable goal, but for the purposes of this excercise, we're just hoping to have a little fun with the technique.  Visit the original here for yourself.

Friday Fill-ins

1. I love to go to the Sunday market in Mornington because there's so much to look at.

2. If I had to choose......... it’s the quality!

3. The last thing I had to eat was a chocolate -covered raspberry.

4. Wondering what others think of what I do is no longer essential.

5. Please take a moment to savour the day around you.

6. Good fortune (and good friends) have brought you this far.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to not cooking, tomorrow my plans include lots of cooking and Sunday, I want to s-l-e-e-p!

Dealing with the weather........

Thought my international readers might like to hear something that was NOT on the iPod our Prime Minister gave to the US President.... an iPod which was supposed to have on it a representative collection of Australian music.  There has been much amusement and not a little confusion over the selection of the tracks - why was one thing there and another not?  Why was a Crowded House track included when they come from NZ?  Why were all the tracks politically correct?

You can't please everyone all the time.

The link here is to a song re-worked since our monumental weather events across Australia this summer.  It can be downloaded from the ABC Shop online and donations made to the Premier's Flood Appeal for Queensland, despite the fact that many more parts of the country were effected.  At least its a start, and to be fair to Macca, the weather events just keep on coming............  Now Macca is certainly not everyone's taste, but he makes me smile (and grit my teeth, and yell at the radio, and laugh out loud, generally every show).  Tune in on Sunday morning (Australian time) from 5.30 til 10 am every week.  His program is called Australia All Over.
